Determination of the Carbon Footprint
December 15, 2022 @ 9:00 - December 27, 2022 @ 13:00
Global warming and climate change are now an everyday topic, with the main emphasis on the estimates of the increase in the planet’s average global temperature by the end of the century, which are considered alarming.
The exponential increase in atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide is also unquestionable, reaching levels unprecedented in the last 800 years. The increase in carbon dioxide concentration by about 40% since pre-industrial times is noteworthy, the first cause being attributed to fossil fuel use and the second to land use change.
In this context, and also due to the commitments arising from the Paris Agreement, the appropriate assessment of the carbon footprint in the different activities is increasingly becoming an environmental and fiscal strategic tool, with special relevance to the economic fabric.
General Objectives:
To provide participants with fundamental knowledge in the area of carbon footprinting, its legislative framework, main normative documents and protocols as well as calculation tools. It also provides the participants with the main notions about the so-called carbon neutrality and its roadmap.
