MOBINOV is characterized as a platform that aggregates knowledge and competence within the automotive industry, to promote a growing appreciation of the sector's competitiveness and internationalization.

The main objective of this association will be to make Portugal a reference in research, innovation, design, development, manufacture and testing of products and services in the automotive industry.

MOBINOV held its first annual conference on January 15th at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, where it revealed the first characterization of the Automobile Cluster of Portugal.

The Portugal Smart Cities Summit took place between 11th and 13th April 2018, of which MOBINOV was part of the strategic council and the organization, and which brought together companies, universities and municipalities in the Lisbon Congress Center.

MOBINOV, in partnership with PRODUTECH, held the first “Open Day” at Toyota Caetano Portugal on June 22, 2018.

As a member of the national group to support the discussion of Horizonte Europa, MOBINOV participated in the meeting on Cluster 3 “Digital and Industry” on 25 June.

Visit to IDIADA
On September 5, 2018, MOBINOV, went to the premises of Applus IDIADA, Barcelona, in order to work out a cooperation agreement between both parties.

Promotion of Auto Cluster in China
The President of Mobinov accompanied the President of AICEP on a visit to the People's Republic of China from 15 to 17 September, with a view to participating in a seminar to attract Chinese investment to the automotive industry, namely in the area of electric vehicles.

Mobinov held the conference "The Future of Qualifications and Work in the Automotive Industry" on September 27, 2018 and was organized in two panels, the main focus being professional qualification in the automotive cluster: challenges and new paradigms

Working meeting with European Commission
At the invitation of the European Commission Representation in Portugal, and within the framework of the annual economic policy assessment (the "European Semester"), MOBINOV participated in a meeting between experts from the European Commission's central services and stakeholders / actors in the training sector and professional qualifications.

MOBINOV participated in CIFMOB - International Conference on the Future of Mobility that took place at the Congress Center of the Customs of Porto on October 26th.

At the invitation of Grupo Perfeição and Nam Kwong Group, a Chinese public company in Macau, MOBINOV was present at the Macau Automobile Fair 2018 from 2 to 4 November.

MOBINOV, at the invitation of AICEP, was present at the 1st Edition of “CIIE - China International Import Expo 2018", at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, in Shanghai on November 5th to 10th.

MOBINOV was present at the presentation of the "Innovation Program for Industry 4.0", organized by CEiiA, in partnership with Porto Business School, Critical Manufacturing and Beta-i on November 13th.

Portugal Exporter 2018
MOBINOV was present at the Annual Portugal Exporter Forum 2018 on November 14. This initiative by the AIP Foundation, Novo Banco and AICEP Portugal Global, is aimed essentially at SMEs that are taking the first steps in exports and potential investments.

Automated Road Transport e Green Vehicles do H2020
MOBINOV and the GPPQ - Promotion Office of the EU RTD Framework Program, organized a Workshop on 16 October 2018 dedicated to the topics Automated Road Transport (ART) and Green Vehicles (GV) of H2020 for the year 2019 .

ATS (Automotive Testing Solutions Forum)
In this second edition of the Automotive Testing Solutions Forum conference, MOBINOV had the privilege of participating as a co-organizer, as well as having held the opening session on December 4th.

Match Point
MOBINOV was present and collaborated with the AEP Foundation in the preparation of the Match Point 2018 event on December 27th. This event aimed to bring together young graduates who left the country in recent years and who would like to return, with Portuguese companies, creating the opportunity for individual recruitment meetings.

On February 13, the Portugal Clusters partnership organized another meeting, where 11 of the 14 Clusters participating in this partnership are present. The meeting took place at the ANI facilities in Porto and was attended by its President, Dr. Eduardo Maldonado.

On February 27th, MOBINOV was present at the Workshop "Smart Cities and Mobility: Trends and Future Needs", an event organized by the Textile Cluster.

Shift to 4.0
On the 7th of March, MOBINOV was present at the protocol and launch ceremony of the SHIFT to 4.0 tool, recommended by ISQ and promoted by IAPMEI, having signed the protocol as a project partner.

On April 10, MOBINOV and the Government signed a Sector Pact for the Competitiveness and Internationalization of the Automotive Industry.

Academia Meets
Academia Meets Auto-Industry is an organization of the Instituto Superior Técnico in partnership with MOBINOV, and seeks to present and discuss ideas that can contribute to improving and developing common projects for the modernization of the mobility industry.

Workshop - "Collectivity for Competitiveness ...".
MOBINOV was one of 11 national clusters that, on the 29th of April, organized the Workshop “Connectivity for Competitiveness and Internationalization”, integrated in the "European Cluster Weeks" (initiative of the European Commission).

On May 30th, the first edition of the Automotive Summit was held, with the presence of more than 200 professionals in the sector, with MOBINOV being the institution invited to make the characterization and future perspective of the national and global automotive industry.

At the invitation of MOV'EO, the French Automobile and Mobility Cluster, MOBINOV was present at the annual convention "Imagine Mobility Forum", which took place in Paris on the 4th of June.

Business Mission in Brazil
On June 26, MOBINOV was visited by a Brazilian business delegation, made up of companies operating in the automotive and aeronautical sectors. The overall objective of the companies was to carry out an initial survey, with a view to obtaining information regarding the economic, fiscal and industrial dynamics of Portugal. MOBINOV presented the Portuguese automotive sector scenario, including a view of the current market and future perspectives.

MOBINOV Submits the First Mobilizing Project
"AutoCluster for the future project"

On July 31 MOBINOV will submit the first mobilizing project. The mobility of the future will be essentially based on vehicles for shared use, electric, connected and with autonomous functions.

The Horizon 2020 application, called RECiPE4Mobility, was approved by the European Commission.

TECH @ Portugal
Alfândega do Porto hosted the exhibition TECH @ PORTUGAL, organized by ANI.
This event was attended by Interface Centers (CIT), Startups, Competitiveness Clusters and Collaborative Laboratories (CoLabs), in order to present the excellence of research and innovation produced in Portugal.

On October 7, MOBINOV was present in Brussels at the H2020 Transport InfoDay, an organization of the European Commission.

The 2nd Edition of Portugal Transport Day, organized by ANI, took place on 8 October in Brussels and was attended by MOBINOV.

Visit to the GAC Group
On October 24th, MOBINOV visited the GAC Group, an automobile manufacturer that produces well-known models in China, such as Trumpchi. This is the main manufacturer in the Guangzhou area and one of the largest in China.

MOBINOV signed a protocol with the Indian Chamber of International Business, seeking to strengthen commercial relations and the development of reciprocal cooperation, between Portugal and India, for the automotive industry.
